RTU’s current status is a worry – Sey Mubarik

Communications Director for Real Tamale United, Sey Mubarik, has revealed that the management of the Tamale-based side are currently perturbed about the Club’s recent struggles in the 2022/23 Betpawa Premier league.

Real Tamale United are just 4 points off the relegation zone and face Great Olympics today at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.

Speaking to Citi Sports in an exclusive interview, Sey Mubarik stated that playing at home presented them with another opportunity to fight to maintain premier league status this campaign.

“We are not happy with the current situation. We are going to find a way to get out this because if you look at the point build up, definitely no club wants to be there, if they want play premier league football next season.”

“We are hoping that the technical team will find a way to change the fortunes of the Club around in the next set of games coming up, so we can stay in the league.”

“After the first seventeen games, we were doing quite well, we were just below Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak with just some few points in the top half.”

“But to drop as low as the thirteenth position, with just 2 points off the drop, it is a worry.”

Real Tamale United managed to escape the drop last season with 41points from 10 wins, 11 draws, 13 losses in 34 league games. They scored 40 goals and conceded 48 under former coach Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko who is currently managing Karela United in the ongoing Betpawa premier league season.
