Atsu should rest in peace – Thomas Partey

Thomas Partey has wished the late Christian Atsu a peaceful rest in the wake of the former Newcastle United winger’s passing.

Partey dedicated his goal in Arsenal’s 3-2 win over AFC Bournemouth in the English Premier League to Atsu who passed away after getting caught up in the devastating earthquakes in Turkey.

A One Week Observation was held this past weekend for the former Black Stars player and Partey displayed a “Rest Well Christian Atsu” message on his shirt beneath his jersey after the win.

“I wish I could get the chance to dedicate this to him [Atsu]. We all saw that we have to believe and I believe that I dedicated the goal to him. At the end, I am happy, I wish that he rests well in peace” he said according to British media outlet, The Independent.

Arsenal maintains a five point lead atop the Premier League standings with the win over Bournemouth and the Gunners play Sporting Lisbon in the Europa League and Fulham in the league next on March 9 and 12 respectively.
