Deputy chief executive officer for Betpawa Premier League side, Legon Cities, Kwabena Onyina Asenso says the team’s head coach Maxwell Konadu has the backing of the board to change the fortunes of the club.

The Royals salvaged a point against Accra Great Olympics at the Accra Sports Stadium in the match week 23 fixture, leaving them just two points off the relegation zone.

Speaking to Citi Sports in an exclusive interview about the club’s current status in the ongoing campaign, Kwabena Onyina Asenso, was confident that the club’s narrative would soon be a good one under their current head coach.

“Definitely, Maxwell Konadu will do the job. We started very well but I don’t know what happened in the middle of the season. I think the World Cup break and those 3 players we let go for the CHAN cost us a lot but I know things will pick up.

I think for about two or three matches they are doing very well so hopefully things will work out. Just that Maxwell will take from the place, Relegation? Maxwell will do the job. I know what he can do he has done it before so he can do it.”

Legon cities host Asante Kotoko in their next BetPawa premier league fixture on the 30th of March.
