Defending champions, Ghana Skolars defeated Nungua Tigers 22-16 in an intense Rugby Men’s 13 Championship opener at the University of Ghana Rugby field.
The Tigers struck first but Skolars quickly regrouped and responded with a succession of tries.
The Nungua-based club put up a valiant effort, but in the end, it was not enough to secure the win as Skolars earned a hard-fought victory on Sunday, April 23, 2023.
Also on the opening day, Bulls triumphed 22-4 over the Accra Panthers.
Despite an early lead for the Panthers, the Bulls mounted a comeback and dominated the second half.
It was a thrilling encounter, with the Bulls showcasing their attacking prowess and solid defense to secure a well-deserved win over the Panthers.
