BetPawa Ghana Premier league defending champions Asante Kotoko defeated league leaders Aduana stars at home to keep their hopes of a title defense alive.

Kotoko enjoyed time on the ball for most parts of the early exchanges but it was Aduana who opened the scoring in the 25th minute.

Isaac Mintah pounced on a cross floated into the box for a cool finish that put the league leaders ahead.

Kotoko sought to restore parity before the interval to show for their time on the ball and found it through top scorer Steve Mukwala.

A nice passage of play resulted in an accurate through ball into the box which found the striker for a neat finish into the top corner in the 37th minute.

Kotoko continued to mount pressure on Aduana after the break and were rewarded for their efforts 19 minutes to time when Serge Eric Zeze’s beautiful shot from the edge of the box found the back of the net.

The win elevates Kotoko to 4th place five points behind Aduana and a point ahead of Hearts of Oak.
