The International Handball Federation’s Africa Zone 3 female U-17 and U-19 trophy tipped off on the 10th of April 2023 at the Accra Sports stadium.

The competition involves a total of 13 teams with 7 in the U-19 category which include Benin, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Nigeria and Ghana.

The U-17 competition on the other hand involves 4 teams namely Ghana, Liberia, Ivory Coast and Benin.

The President of the Ghana Handball Association, Nii Lante Bannerman who addressed the media after the opening ceremony highlighted the importance of hosting the tournament.

“After every game officiating officials are assessed they are given the opportunity to watch the videos of the various games and they are corrected where they went wrong”.

“So it’s a developmental process not only for the players but for the officiating officials, for the table delegates and all” he said.

“So I see it as a big leverage hosting it than participating in it in a different country” he added
The event will be played across four days ending on the 15th of April 2023 and promises to be an action packed competition.
