Ghana center, Amida Brimah, played a pivotal role as JL Bourg’s sealed its place in the French Pro A playoffs semifinals for the first time in the club’s history.
Bourg beat Dijon 92-90 thanks to a jump shot from Jordan Lloyd with 3.4 seconds remaining to win Game 2 of their 3-game series. Bourg beat Dijon 79-73 in Game 1 to build the base for their progression.
Brimah played 14 minutes in Game 2 and registered eight points, three rebounds, a steal, a block and a turnover while Lloyd led the team with 16 points, four rebounds and three assists in 27 minutes. (Click highlighted text to watch game highlights)
The 29-year-old converted three of four two-point shot attempts but scored only two of five free throw shot attempts.
Bourg ended the 2022-2023 regular season ranked fifth with 19 wins and 15 losses and in the playoffs, they and Lyon were the only teams to sweep their quarterfinal series
After picking winning the Belgian Pro League title with Filou Oostende, Brimah averaged seven points and four rebounds in 17.4 minutes in his debut season in France.
