Ghanaian players Alfred Duncan and Kasim Nuhu Adams were involved in a roller coaster ride of a game in the UEFA Europa Conference League semifinals where Fiorentina beat FC Basel 4-3 on aggregate to progress to the final.

Duncan’s Fiorentina beat Nuhu’s Basel 2-1 in regulation time to tie the contest 3-3 on aggregate after Basel beat Fiorentina by the same score in the first leg in Italy.

Antonin Barak was introduced to the game in extra time and scored the winning goal late in extra time to put Fiorentina into the final game of Europe’s third tier competition.

Kasim Nuhu played out the entirety of the game underpinning his importance to the Swiss side after a frustrating time at German side TSG Hoffenheim.

Adams is on loan from Hoffenheim with the deal expected to end at the conclusion of the 2022-2023 season. The 27 year old has played 11 games in the Conference League and has scored once for Basel.

Youngster Emmanuel Essiam was  an unused substitute in the game; Essiam is expected to play a starring role for Ghana’s Black Meteors.
