Former Black Stars midfielder, Alfred Duncan, has missed out on winning his first major title at the pro level in the wake of Fiorentina’s 1-2 loss to Inter Milan in the Coppa Italia Final.
Duncan was an unused substitute in the game in the first of two finals Fiorentina will compete in to close out the season considering the Viola will play in the Conference League final against West Ham on June 7.
Fiorentina took the lead in the Nicholas Gonzalez in the third minute but two goals from Lautaro Martinez in the 29th and 37th minute respectively gave Inter the win.
The title win means Inter can end the season with the double as it prepares to take on Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League on June 10.
30-year-old Duncan announced his retirement from the Black Stars in 2022 and has featured in 28 games in all competitions this season and scoring a goal in the process.
