Nations FC staged a dramatic comeback win over WAFA in the Division One League zone two match-week 28 game to confirm their promotion to the Ghanaian top-flight league.

The Kumasi-based side fought back to record a 3-2 home win at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Abrankese, to book themselves a slot in ghana’s top flight division next season.

West African Football Academy opened the score in early minutes through Razak Simpson before hat-trick hero Abubakari Gariba levelled from the spot on the 10th minute.

The visitors restored their lead though Emmanuel Agyemang Duah in the 58th minute after dominating the early minutes of the second half.

Gariba popped up once again to snatch the equalizer for Nations FC on the 68th minute before grabbing the match-winner in the 96th minute from the spot to complete his day with a hat trick.

Following the 3-2 win over WAFA, Nations FC have finished as winners of the Division One League zone two and have qualified to play in the Ghana Premier League next season with two games to end the 2022/23 season.

They currently occupy top spot with 69 points while second place team Skyy FC are with 57 points with two remaining fixtures to end the season.

Nations FC have joined the Ghana Premier League with Heart of Lions, who finished as Zone three champions.
