Our presence at league centres impacts players positively – Didi Dramani

Black Stars Assistant Coach, Mas-ud Didi Dramani believes the presence of national team coaches at match centers impacts the players positively.

Alongside the senior national team Head Coach, Chris Hughton, the former Asante Kotoko trainer has been spotted at various Premier League and lower-tier matches throughout the current season.

In an exclusive interview with Citi Sports, Dramani emphasized the critical importance of according the local leagues the requisite attention it warrants.

I think the most important aspect of football is that, once we are still holders in the industry, we need to give it that attention and the respect it deserves.

I try as much as possible to observe as many football matches as I can, not only the Betpawa Premier League, but also to watch the division one and other divisions as well.

I try to go to the grassroots level and see more football.

I think our presence will influence positively and also serve as huge inspiration to the many players and others to be part of this industry.

The recent attendance of Chris Hughton and his assistants, Didi Dramani and George Boateng at match centers in the Ghana Premier League and other competitions was explained by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) as part of the technical team’s responsibilities.

During his first engagement with the media in Kumasi, Hughton pledged to see more local matches whenever he finds himself in Ghana to monitor talents and help make decisions about future call-ups.

Didi Dramani further highlighted the significance of local clubs having an identity with respect to the team’s structure and charged coaches and players to exhibit high-quality football at all levels.

I think that the game is beginning to take a certain shape, the shape of structure and you can see that all the teams are trying to implement a clear identity of a structure and this is very important.

Right from the build up play, through to the other phases of play, how teams are trying to play around the channels.

I also think that, there are other concerns which are very critical that we need to address; how players have to stay in the game and in football, the game must flow.

Match officials must also allow the game to flow, sometimes the stoppages are very unnecessary.

It is a work in a progress and I believe we will get there with time.

The betpawa premier league enters match-week 30 this weekend.
