Ghanaian winger, Bernard Morrison, was on target in Young Africans Club’s 2-0 win over Marumo Gallants in the CAF Confederation Cup semifinals.
Morrison scored Young Africans’ second in added on time after Stephane Aziz had put the Tanzanian club up in the 64th minute to take a big step towards qualifying to the final.
29-year-old Morrison came off the bench and got played through on goal late in the game and proceeded to dink the ball over the Gallants goalkeeper, Washington Arubi.
Arubi got a hand to the ball, crashed into Morrison in the process and the two players went down but Morrison got up in time to slot the ball into the net from an acute angle to give Young Africans (Yanga) a 2-0 lead heading into the second leg.
The goal is Morrison’s first in four appearances in the Confederation Cup this season after making two appearances in the CAF Champions League.
Yanga plays Gallants in the return leg on Wednesday, May 17 at 16:00 GMT at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium.
