Ghana v Madagascar: Ernest Nuamah impresses on Black Stars debut

Nuamah

While the Black Stars delivered a poor performance in a goalless draw against Madagascar in a 2023 AFCON qualifier, new boy Ernest Nuamah stood out in the dull encounter.

The 20 year old played 28 minutes as a second half substitute after checking into the game to replace Joseph Paintsil.

Nuamah made an instant impression with his direct runs showing off his blistering pace to win duels as an inverted winger down Ghana’s right side.

He also displayed a few tricks and with fellow substitutes, Osman Bukari and Kudus Mohammed, brought more verve to Ghana’s anemic attack.

The FC Nordsjaelland and former Right to Dream Academy player won four of five ground duels, successfully completed two of three dribble attempts and completed all five accurate passing attempts.

Nuamah

Nuamah’s seclection to the Black Stars and Black Meteors (Ghana’s Under 23 National team) comes on the back of a brilliant season in the Danish Super League where he registered 15 goals and four assists in 34 games in all competitions.

The left footed winger is in line to represent Ghana at the Under 23 AFCON in Morocco later this month.
