Black Stars defender Patric Pfeiffer has secured a move to Bundelsiga side Augsburg after aiding Darmstadt gain promotion to the German top flight.
In the aftermath of the inking a four year deal with the team that broke Borussia Dortmund hearts on the final day of the 2022-2-23 Bundesliga season, Pfeiffer described Augsburg as the ideal place to be at this stage of his career.
“I had a wonderful time in Darmstadt, with promotion to the Bundesliga the icing on the cake… so I have decided to start a new chapter in my career in Augsburg. The talks with FCA’s management convinced me that Augsburg is the ideal place for me to continue my journey in the Bundesliga.”
In relation to the transfer, Augsburg Sporting Director Stefan Reuter stated, “We’re proud that we have been able to bring Patric Pfeiffer to FCA despite lots of interest from other clubs. We’re getting one of the best defenders in the second division this season, someone who can help us achieve our goals in the coming years” according to Augsburg’s official website.
The 23 year old 6 foot 5 inch player represented Germany at junior competitions before committing to play international football for Ghana.
He joins Augsburg on a free transfer after registering four goals and an assist in 26 games in all competitions for Darmstadt.
