Two schools, 28th February Road & Private Odartey Memorial Basic School, and the Adedenkpo 1&2 Primary School have benefited from the benevolence of the HN Sarpei Foundation.

The HN Sarpei Foundation is a charity group established by Ghanaian footballer, Hans Nunoo Sarpei to give back to society.

On Thursday, the HN Sarpei donated stationery to the two schools to help aid in their academic activities.

Sarpei presented books, shelves, pencils, chairs and a set of football jerseys to the 28th February Road & Private Odartey Memorial Basic School, and the Adedenkpo 1&2 Primary School to stock up the schools’ libraries and sports supplies.

Speaking after the event, the Ingolstadt midfielder stated that the donations to the schools form part of his holiday activities to help improve the educational standards of the people living within the Ga Mashie community and its environs.

“I did not attend school here, but my team and I did our checks and realised we needed to help these schools urgently by furnishing their libraries.

“This is what motivates me to continue working harder when I am on the field because I want to continue supporting their dreams,” Sarpei said.

For her part, the Headmistress of the 28th February Road & Private Odartey Memorial Basic School, Vincentia Korkuvi, expressed her gratitude to the footballer for his support and promised the gesture would go a long way to improve the reading habits of the children.

Madam Vincentia described the donation as timely since the school had lacked a well-furnished library for years.

“I am very happy with this gesture because I know what it means to everyone in this school, especially the children who have been without a library for years”.
