Former captain of Liberty Professionals Football Club, Samuel Sarfo is optimistic his former team will get promoted to the Ghanaian top-flight soon because the team has the “right structures”.
He said this in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports on the sidelines of the All Star Festival soiree; the Festival is a series of football related events meant to honour Ghana’s former Brong Ahafo Region which is heavily regarded as a football hub.
The event runs from June 20-22 in Sunyani and is expected to have Black Stars players Andre Ayew, Kamaldeen Sulemana and Lawrence Ati Zigi participating. Sarfo is also expected to be a participant.
Speaking on Division One side Liberty, Sarfo said, “They are doing their best but it’s just not the time yet for them to gain promotion…the structures are there and it’s just a matter of seasons. One season not going well doesn’t mean the management is bad and the players are bad. I know they will wrap things up and come back stronger.”
Sarfo plays for Kuwaiti side Al-Tadamon Sporting Club.
