Black Stars defender Daniel Amartey is heavily linked to Turkish giant Besiktas after leaving Leicester City Football Club as a free agent.

Fellow Black Stars defender Alexander Djiku recently moved from French Ligue 1 side Strasbourg to Turkish League giant Fenerbache.

According Turkish freelance Journalist and Global transfer expert Ekrem Konur, it is only a matter of time before the 28 year old joins Besiktas this offseason.

Amartey’s near seven year run at Leicester City came to an end at the conclusion of the 2022-2023 season.

In his time with the Foxes, Amartey won the English Premier League, FA Cup and Community Shield after leaving Danish side FC Copenhagen.

After playing in 24 games in all competitions last season, Amartey was rumoured to be favouring a move to the money laden Saudi Pro League as a free agent.

Due to the injection of massive funds, the Saudi Pro League has attracted a swath of ex EPL players including Cristiano Ronaldo, Kalidou Koulibaly and N’Golo Kante.

The 2022-2023 season had Amartey play in all three games for Ghana at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar against Uruguay, Portugal and South Korea.
