Hearts of Oak celebrate win over Berekum Chelsea

Accra Hearts of Oak Board Member, Alhaji Akambi, says the club fully supports the roll out of the new format for the league.

His comments come as the GFA works to implement the league as early as the 2024-2025 season.

Chairman of the Ghana Licensing Board, Dr. Kwame Baah-Nuakoh, praised Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko for their heavy involvement in the works of the autonomous league.

Alhaji Akambi who spoke to Citi Sports in an exclusive interview doubled down on this assertion and relayed the reasons why.

“We are learning what is happening in Europe and if we are learning we have to learn and catch up with them quickly so I will support the autonomous league 250 percent.

I thought this coming season, we were going to start but there was a little delay and we were not able to. But 2024/2025 is not bad before then I’m sure we will be well prepared then it will take off” he said.
