A trio of Black Stars players has named the famous contacts on their phones in trending videos on social media.
Videos of footballers (past and present) famous personalities on their phone contact list are making several rounds on social media platforms in peak pre-season time.
Recently retired Black Stars player Asamoah “Baby Jet” Gyan named himself as the most famous contact he has on his phone.
He said this after participating in the draw for African qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup that placed Ghana in Group I with Mali, Central African Republic, Madagascar, Comoros and Chad.
In all 54 African nations have been spread across nine groups to compete in the qualifiers and the top ranked teams at the end of the qualifiers progress automatically to the next FIFA World Cup.
For Club Brugge’s Ghanaian duo, Denis Odoi and Kamal Sowah, the pair picked musicians as the most famous contacts on their phones.
Sowah picked Ghanaian musician King Promise while Odoi picked Ghanaian-British rapper Stormzy; both players are gearing up for the 2022-2023 Belgian Jupiler Pro League.
Both musicians are heavily connected to football with Stormzy noted as an avid Manchester United fan and recently featuring AS Roma coach Jose Mourinho in his music video.
King Promise is often seen hanging out with football during the off season and is close to Chelsea FC Ghanaian-British winger Callum Hudson Odoi.
