Kai Havertz put the icing on the cake of a dominant Arsenal win in preseason by smashing in a fine goal on the half volley.
Havertz scored Arsenal’s fifth in the Gunners 5-0 win over the Major League Soccer (MLS) All Star Team in Arsenal’s second preseason game.
In the lead up to the game, Havertz had come under immense pressure for under performing in the team’s win over Nurenburg and badly fluffing his lines in the Cross and Volley Challenge. (Click highlighted text to watch video).
Havertz missed all 14 shot attempts in the challenge that got Arsenal fans worried about the wayward finishing that frustrated many Chelsea fans.
The 24 year old German international made a 64 million Pound headline move from Chelsea to fellow London side Arsenal this off season.
The former Bayer Leverkusen player controlled a cross from the right side and steadied himself before blasting the ball into the left side of the post.
Fellow new signing Declan Rice played for the first time in an Arsenal shirt since from West Ham United for a record 105 million Pounds.
The likes of Jorginho and Gabriel Martinelli scored in the win; Ghana’s Thomas Partey joined the team in the USA earlier this week. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
