Ghana striker Bernard Tekpetey bagged a brace in Ludogrets Razgrad’s emphatic 4-0 win over Kosovo’s FC Ballkani in the UEFA Champions League qualifying round of games. Ludogrets qualified with a 4-2 aggregate result thanks to the win.
The win secured the Bulgarian side’s progression to the second round of qualifiers that pitches Ludogrets against Slovenian side NK Olimpija.
The first leg takes place on Wednesday, July 26 in Bulgaria with the second leg slated for Wednesday, August in Slovenia. Olimpija beat Latvian side Valmiera 4-2 on aggregate in the first round.
Tekpetey scored in the fourth minute with a header deep inside the penalty box and added another goal in the 45th minute to tie the game on aggregate.
Teammates Matias Tissera and Caio Vidal scored Ludogrets’ 49th and 78th minute respectively to the seal qualification to the next round.
25 year old Tekpetey scored 10 goals and added nine assists in 50 games in all competitions last season to aid Ludogrets win the Bulgarian League title.
