Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reports West Ham United Football Club has had its €42 million offer to Ajax Amsterdam for Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus rejected.
The rejection comes at a time transfer talks involving Kudus departing the Dutch club continues to intensify in the wake of a breakout 2022-2023 season for Kudus.
The 23 year old former FC Nordsjaelland player scored 18 goals and added seven assists in 42 games across all competitions last season.
The renowned Italian football insider in his Tweet added Ajax “have rejected the proposal out of hand. No intention to accept at those conditions.”
He added West Ham will have to decide whether to continue negotiations with Ajax for Kudus or walk away from the negotiations.
Reports suggest Ajax value Kudus at €50 million and won’t accept any fee lower than the team’s valuation.
Fellow English Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion was reported to have reached a 35 million Pounds deal for Kudus but the deal fell through.
Kudus has a goal and an assist in two games this season ahead of Ajax’s Europa League playoff tie against Ludogrets Razgrad on Wednesday, August 23.
