Chief Executive Officer of Bechem United, Kingsley Osei Bonsu who is popularly known in Ghanaian football circles as Lord Zico, has pegged the team’s playing surface as one of the best.
He said this in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports as the countdown to the start of the 2023-2024 Betpawa Ghana Premier League season in September continues.
The state of pitches at league venues have been heavily criticized in recent years but the veteran football administrator believes the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park’s pitch should rank in the top three spots.
“When it comes to the playing field, the pitch itself, I think you cannot select three standard playing fields in the country right now and not bring in the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park. We now have a good pitch, we’ve fixed in sprinklers and other things.”
Lord Zico is running to be elected to serve on the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council for a second term. This year’s elections are set to be held on September 27 in Tamale.
