Black Stars goalkeeper Joseph “Jojo” Wollacott will miss Hibernian’s Europa League Conference qualifier tonight against FC Luzern. The game kicks off at 18:30 GMT.
The 26 year old will miss the game against the Swiss League side to a knee injury he picked up in the prior Conference League qualifier against Inter Escalades.
He played just 17 minutes in Hibernian’s 6-1 win that got the Scottish side to progress to the third round of qualifiers. The game was Wollacott’s debut outing for Hibs.
Wollacott subsequently missed Hibernian’s 3-2 win over St. Mirren in the Scottish Premier League as a result of the thigh injury. The extent of the injury is yet to be determined.
The Black Stars shot stopper only joined Hibernian this offseason from English League One side Charlton Athletic and featured in Hibernian’s 3-0 win over Blackpool in a club friendly.
Wollacott suffered a finger injury that forced him to miss the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar after starting in key victories for the Black Stars in the qualifiers.
