German-born Ghanaian, Phil Ofosu-Ayeh who has been ranked the fastest player in the Swedish Premier League, is still committed to the Black Stars despite not being called up for seven years.

The right-back, who previously played for SV Wilhelmshaven, has commenced the season impressively for his club, Halmstads BK, following their return to the topflight.

And while there have been advances from Sweden for the Ghana international to make a switch and represent the European nation, the player is still committed to representing Ghana, even though he has made only one appearance for the Black Stars

“I really love Ghana and always would want to play for the Black Stars. Ghana is my father’s homeland and my spirit is with the Black Stars,” he said to the media.

“I enjoyed playing for the Black Stars in the Canada friendly but I got injured and was ruled out of Ghana’s AFCON qualifiers,” he added

Ofosu-Ayeh, who was born to a German mother and a Ghanaian father, made his full international debut for Ghana in a friendly against Canada played in Washington, D.C. on 13 October 2015.
