Black Stars defender Mohammed Salisu has stated that AS Monaco has a very good young team with great qualities after joining the team.
He said this in his first official presser since joining the French club this off season from English Premier League side Southampton.
Salisu played three seasons at Southampton before sealing a 15 million euro move to the 2017 French Ligue 1 champions. The 24 year old joined The Saints from Spanish side Real Valladolid.
After praising the French Ligue 1’s quality, Salisu threw the spotlight on his new club’s quality and potential to finish higher than last season’s sixth place finish.
“Here there are a lot of young talents, very good players. I’m at a new club and AS Monaco is my priority. We have a very good and young team, with great qualities. So I think we have the ingredients to progress, to achieve better results than last year and achieve our goals together” he said according to AS Monaco.
Salisu played all three games for Ghana at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. He missed a chunk of the 2022-2023 season’s latter part to a knee injury but played in two Southampton pre season games.
