Media engagement over Black Stars call ups hasn’t been planned yet – Black Stars Team Manager

Ghana's starting unit against Angola

Black Stars Team Manager, Ameenu Shardow, is doubtful a media engagement for Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton over call ups for the team’s upcoming qualifier would take place.

He made the blunt statement in his exclusive interview on Citi FM’s Sports Panorama where he touched on the reason for the delay in the announcement of the squad.

The Black Stars take on Central African Republic (CAR) in the final round of qualifiers for the 2023 AFCON; the continental championship is to be held in Cote D’Ivoire in January next year.

Asked whether Chris Hughton would shed some light on his reasons for selecting some players and omitting others from his squad was in the making, the Black Stars administrator wasn’t confident such a scenario would pan out.

“I pretty much doubt it. I have not been briefed on any arrangement towards that but it could change tomorrow I don’t know but as I speak now, we don’t have any indication of such an engagement.

The priority will be geared towards preparing the team adequately to get us the result. In the draft plan that we have so far, there is nothing of this nature. However, things could change” he said.
