2026 World Cup qualifiers schedule released; Ghana to play Madagascar, Comoros in November

The Black Stars of Ghana will commence its journey to qualify to the 2026 FIFA World Cup later this year in the wake of the schedule release.

The next World Cup will be co-hosted by USA, Canada and Mexico and Ghana’s qualification games to tournament commences in November.

Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team takes on familiar foes to open its qualification schedule with matchups against Madagascar and Comoros to be set in the period between November 13 and 21.

The heavyweight clash between the Black Stars and Mali and yet another familiar foe, Central African Republic (CAR), is set to be played in the period between June 3 and 11 in 2024 in Group I.

In an all play all format, the top ranked nation at the end of the qualifiers automatically secures a spot at the 2026 World Cup; the next World Cup is the first to have 48 participating nations compete.

In the lead up to the games, Ghana played against Madagascar and CAR in the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifiers. Ghana topped the group to make it to the AFCON for the 10th time in a row.
