Chairman of the Black Galaxies Management Committee, Dr Tony Aubynn, has emphasized the need for a formidable local national team to act as a talent pipeline for the Black Stars.

In light of this, Didi Dramani, an assistant coach for the Black Stars, has been appointed to replace Daniel Annor Walker for the upcoming Black Galaxies’ assignments.

The main aim is to form the national team B [Black Galaxies] and create a comprehensive player database for continuous monitoring.

Dr. Tony Aubynn conveyed this message in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports.

We need to build from below, we need to have a solid background, I have said that, why don’t we build a solid Galaxies team [second tier of the Black Stars]?

When the senior national team lack some players, we can always turn to this one ( Black Galaxies player) to go and replace them or even when they are doing better, we can always recommend them for the Black Stars.

Now, we have started that, and we called about 97 players for the new team. They were not called by names, the Coach went round and picked up players during the league season.

Now he, the Coach [Didi Dramani] has gotten a set of players (and) he knows their abilities.

Ghana’s Black Galaxies exited the 2022 TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) after losing 2-0 to Niger in the quarterfinal stage when the competition was last held in Algeria.

Ghana failed to advance after conceding a goal in each half in the quarterfinal match played at the Miloud Hadefi Stadium

The result eliminated the two-time finalists from the competition with Niger advancing to the semi-final stage.
