Goalkeeper, Danlad Ibrahim has been named new Captain of Ghana Premier League giants, Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

The 20-year old who is entering his 8th year at the club, has been given the armband following the departure of former captain Richard Boadu, who joined Libyan side, Al Ahly.

Cameroonian, Georges Mfegue and Richard Lamptey, have also been named as first and second vice-captains respectively.

“It’s a huge honour for me to be named the new club captain,” He told asantekotoko.com.

“I will say it’s a blessing, and I give thanks to the Almighty Allah, to our noble technical staff and head coach, Prosper Ogum, and to our great supporters.

“I am very grateful for this, and I promise to serve wholeheartedly like I have always done since I joined [this club].”

Danlad joined Kumasi Asante Kotoko in 2016 but made his Ghana Premier League debut in the 2021/2022 season.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko will begin their 2023/2024 Betpawa Premier League campaign against newcomers Hearts of Lions at the Baba Yara Sports stadium on Sunday.
