Leicester City winger Fatawu Issahaku will join the Black Stars later tonight as Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team continues preparations for its upcoming tie against Central African Republic (CAR).

Issahaku has been roped into the team as an injury replacement for KRC Genk winger Joseph Paintsil who will miss the game.

The Black Stars take on the Wild Beasts on Thursday, September 7 at the Baba Yara Stadium in the final round of qualifiers for the 2023 AFCON in Cote D’Ivoire.

Both teams need a win to guarantee qualification to the competition but a draw will be enough for Ghana to make it to the biannual continental tournament.

Issahaku was originally part of the Black Stars standby list and reports from close sources to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) indicate the 20 year old will join the Black Stars camp tonight.

However, his involvement in tomorrow’s game is up in the air considering the absence of a run with the team in a training setting.

Issahaku is on loan at Leicester City from Portuguese outfit Sporting Lisbon.
