GPL WK2: Bibiani Gold Stars condemn Kotoko to first defeat of the season

Bibiani Gold Stars beat Kumasi Asante Kotoko 2-1 on Saturday to record their first win of the campaign at the Dun’s Park.

The hosts started the game on the front foot with a goal in the 17th minute which was controversially ruled out by the referee.

The first-half ended goalless as both sides failed to find the back of the net.

Bibiani Gold Stars after the break took the lead in the 66th minute through Prince Owusu but Asante Kotoko’s Sheriff Mohammed found the back of the net in the 70th minute to level the game.

The hosts took the lead once again via Eric Bosomtwi’s brilliant strike in the 73rd minute to seal the win for Bibiani Gold Stars.

The result means the Porcupine Warriors have failed to record a win in their first two games of the season, after they drew goalless with Heart of Lions on Match Day one.
