Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, head coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club, has called on supporters of the Porcupine Warriors to be hopeful ahead of the team’s game against Karela United.

Dr. Ogum said this after Kotoko lost 1-2 to Bibiani Gold Stars in the Week 2 round of games in the 2023-2024 Betpawa Premier League season. Kotoko drew goalless with Kpando Heart of Lions in Week 1.

Even in the face of a tough start to life in the new season, Dr. Ogum says fans should be hopeful about the club’s prospects heading to Sunday, October 1’s league game against Karela United at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

“You could see after the whistle their heads were up, there’s nothing like a drop in confidence. We looked very confident, we are motivated. We’ve come, we did our best but we lost but I don’t think we disgraced ourselves.”

When asked what fans should expect from the team against Karela United, Dr. Ogum stated, “They (fans) should be hopeful.”

Karela scored a 3-1 win over Berekum Chelsea in Week 2.
