Ghanaian winger Osman Bukari has scored his debut goal in the UEFA Champions League group stage but ended up on the losing side.
Bukari scored in the 45th minute for Red Star Belgrade (Crvena Zvezda) but the Serbian side lost 1-3 to Manchester City after conceding goals from Julian Alvarez (twice) and Rodri.
The 24 year old peeled away from the Man City backline and tucked the ball past Man City goalkeeper Ederson but his goal was initially ruled offside. However, the decision was overturned by the VAR.
The speedy winger’s goal against Man City is his fourth goal in the 2023-2024 season where he also has registered two assists in eight games in all competitions.
Reacting to the loss despite getting the goal on his X (formerly Twitter) page, Bukari stated, “Unfortunately, not the results we wanted but we will come back stronger! Thank y’all for the support!”
