Ghanaian winger Ibrahim Sadiq has joined Dutch side AZ Alkmaar from Swedish side BK Hacken mere hours after helping Hacken seal its place in the 2023-2024 Europa League.
The 23 year old joins Alkmaar on a five year deal after an impressive run with Hacken where he scored 27 goals in 43 games in all competitions.
Prior to joining Hacken, Sadiq featured for Danish Super League side FC Nordsjaelland that has recruited and transferred a slew of promising Ghanaian players including Ernest Nuamah, Kamaldeen Sulemana and Mohammed Kudus.
In what turned out to be his final game for Hacken, Sadiq scored in the 14th and 41st minute respectively to aid Hacken register a 3-1 win against Aberdeen in Scotland.
The win secured Hacken a spot at the group stage of this season’s Europa League competition via a 5-3 win on aggregate over the Scottish side.
Hacken has been drawn in Group H with German side Bayer Leverkusen, Azerbaijan side FK Qarabag and Norwegian side Molde.
