I got kicked out of Black Stars because I criticized GFA people at the 2014 FIFA World Cup

Retired midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has revealed why he got kicked out of the Black Stars at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

The former Schalke 04 player said he got expelled from Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team before the final World Cup group stage game against Portugal because of his outspoken personality.

Ghana needed a win against the Cristiano Ronaldo led Portugal to progress to the Round 16 stage for the third time in a row. Ghana lost 1-2 and exited at the group stage.

Speaking on former Man United legend Rio Ferdinand’s Vibe with Five Podcast, the German born player stated why he got kicked off the team while adding fellow midfielder Sulley Muntari was kicked out of the team for the same reason on the same day.

“We had a meeting and I criticized them and I said they can’t treat us like that because we know how much money they make and they should invest in organization and give the players the money they deserve so they didn’t like that, they kicked me out.”

Boateng played for Ghana at the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups.
