Chief Executive Officer of Bechem United Kingsley Osei Bonsu, popularly known as Lord Zico, has debunked claims that Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku influences player selections to the Black Stars.

The Bechem United CEO retained his seat at the GFA Executive Council during the recently held 2023 GFA Elections in Tamale via a run off victory over Karela United CEO Elloeny Amande.

Speaking to Citi Sports in an exclusive interview, the administrator believes the GFA President wouldn’t compromise the national team’s chances of winning by imposing players on coaches.

“If the Black Stars go out for a match and they succeeded, I think Kurt (Okraku) will be the happiest person …because people might say that he is in charge of administration and the success or otherwise of the national team rest with him so it will be difficult for Kurt as I know to say that am influencing in a negative way as far as the selection of players into the national teams is concerned.”
