BetPawa League: GFA condemns acts of misconduct; assures strong actions will be taken

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) in a release, has condemned several acts of violence and misconduct that happened at league centres in the past round of games in the BetPawa Premier League.

The statement comes in the wake of widespread reports of misconduct including the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Kumasi and the Aliu Mahama Stadium in Tamale.

The likes of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Karela United, Bofoakwa Tano, Nations FC, Aduana Stars and Accra Great Olympics were reportedly involved in these altercations.

“Following the Match Reports from all match venues, the GFA wishes to assure the sporting public that there will be a strong action from the appropriate organs of the GFA against culprits in accordance with the GFA Disciplinary Code and relevant Competition Regulations” the statement communicated.

Alleged fans of Kotoko ripped seats and flew them on to the pitch after Nations FC scored a late goal from the penalty spot to tie the game 2-2.

Bofoakwa alleged their lives were under threat after playing out a goalless draw in Tamale against Karela United. Scroll down to read full statement from the GFA.
