Ghana’s Black Stars will be without the services of Daniel Amartey, Alexander Djiku, Tariq Lamptey and Osman Bukari due to varied injuries.
The quartet will miss upcoming international friendly games against Mexico and USA in the United States on October 15 and 18 respectively.
Lamptey missed out on competing in Brighton and Hove Albion’s 2-2 draw with Liverpool in the last round of English Premier League games ahead of the latest international break.
In the wake of the raft of injuries, Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton has called up three players to replace the above mentioned players.
Stephan Ambrosius, Kingsley Schindler and Jerome Opoku have been called up; this is English-born 6 foot 5 inch defender Opoku’s first ever national team call up.
The debut call up comes on the back of 24 year old Opoku scoring for Istanbul Basaksehir in a 2-0 win over Gaziantep.
All three replacements will shore up the Black Stars lineup that has Gideon Mensah, Joseph Aidoo, Nicholas Opoku and Alidu Seidu in camp.
Mensah missed Black Stars international friendly game against Liberia after picking up an injury in the 2023 AFCON game between Ghana and Central African Republic.
