After bagging his first goal for Olympique Lyon since joining the club this past offseason, Ghana forward Ernest Nuamah is adamant there is more coming.

He said this in a statement posted on his X (formerly Twitter) page after scoring Lyon’s exciting 3-3 draw with Lorient in the French Ligue 1.

Nuamah connected on a half-volley in the 21st minute to cancel out Eli Junior Kroupi’s goal in the 16th minute. Kroupi’s goal was the first of a pair from the 17 year old.

After impressing in his prior games, Nuamah registered his first goal for his new club and believes the draw will spur the club on to recover from its terrible start to the 2023-2024 season.

“Just getting started. Although we didn’t get the results every game is a step forward to find growth and unity. Let’s keep pushing forward to bounce back stronger.”

Lyon has three draws and five losses in eight games and ranks 17th in the 18 team league standings.

Nuamah has been invited to Ghana’s Black Stars international friendly games against Mexico and USA on October 15 and 18 respectively.
