Accra Lions head coach, Ibrahim Tanko, has singled out a poor first half performance for his team’s 0-3 loss to Accra Great Olympics; Lions conceded all three goals in the first half.

The game played earlier today at the Accra Sports Stadium concluded the Week 5 round of games in the 2023-2024 Betpawa Premier League season.

Two goals from Michael Yeboah and a strike from Emmanuel Antwi gave Olympics its second win this season; the team remains unbeaten in five games and has moved to the league’s summit.

Speaking after the heavy loss in the Accra derby, coach Tanko was disappointed with his team’s performance especially in the first half.

“Very bad (performance); I mean we had a very bad first half I mean with two mistakes, we gave them the game. It’s very painful but they deserved to win.

Great Olympics head coach Annor Walker

When you are down 3-0 in 20 minutes, definitely your confidence will vanish and I mean this is what happened. We are going to prepare for Real Tamale United on Friday and then hope that everything will be fine.”
