Accra Hearts of Oak Executive Board Chairman, Togbe Afede XIV has taken a swipe at detractors and has called for the Phobians board to be praised for its sacrificial efforts for the club.

He said this while addressing stakeholders at the team’s annual general meeting; in his speech and subsequent address, the Executive Chairman touched on several issues centered on the club’s finances and ongoing projects.

“We are just sacrificing, spending so much money we deserve praise and appreciation. We deserve praise and not unnecessary pettiness and jealousy so when they say Togbe owns it, it’s just because Togbe is funding it or Togbe’s companies are funding it. That is why we don’t owe salaries and we should be happy about that.”

Togbe Afede added that negativity from Hearts of Oak fans is hurting the club especially its ability to get sponsorships. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

Hearts’ slow start has added to the frustration of supporters who watched the club finish 12th in the 2022-2023 season.

Four games into the 2023-2024 Betpawa Premier League, Hearts rank 16th in the 18 team league standings.
