Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, has admonished fans of the club who turned their back on the team in these trying times.

He said this in a presser where he touched on several issues affecting the club including players turned politicians in the team and “senior, experienced” players not stepping up their performances. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

Kotoko fans recently booed and threatened to prevent players from leaving the stadium after losing 1-0 to Dreams FC; the loss punctuated Kotoko’s four game winless run in the BetPawa Premier League.

Speaking at the presser, Dr. Ogum called on fans to adopt a different approach in supporting the team especially with the team struggling.

“We are not winning or we are creating chances, we are not scoring so you turn against your own team. When you do that, you are not helping the boys.”

“Once chances are being created, once you can see that these players are playing according to a particular pattern and that nobody is actually playing as an individual player but they are making the effort to play as a team, you support them.”

Kotoko’s poor run has culminated in the Porcupine Warriors ranked 14th in the 18 team league standings.
