Give Chris Hughton space- Oduro-Nyarko tells detractors

Former Wa All Stars Football Club CEO, Samuel Oduro-Nyarko, has told detractors to back off Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton and give him space to work.

He said this in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports ahead of the Black Stars 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Madagascar on November 17 and Comoros on November 21.

The Black Stars also have to deal with the 2023 AFCON competition in January next year and after losing to USA and Mexico with poor performances in both games, the pressure on Hughton has mounted.

However, veteran football administrator Oduro-Nyarko says Hughton needs time to get the team performing well.

“I still believe that once he is grooming the team, once he wants to build a winsome side, let’s give him time, let’s give him space because he’s now trying to test the players.”

“All in all, the team will gel. I believe that with time Black Stars will gel.”

Hughton recently met with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council reportedly over the future of the former Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest manager.
