Jonathan Sowah won’t be at Medeama SC forever – Tetteh Zutah on striker’s future

Medeama Sporting Club Administrative Manager, Joseph Tetteh Zutah, has shed light on striker Jonathan Sowah’s future who is reportedly on the radar of Egyptian side Al-Ahly and Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa.

The striker is Medeama’s talisman and was part of the Black Stars squad called up by Chris Hughton for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Madagascar and Comoros.

Zutah added that though Sowah’s services will be missed should the striker leave, he is confident the team will find his replacement.

He said this in an interview with CITI SPORTS :

“Sowah is a good player, before a player who has a contract will move on it means there must be an agreement from both parties so if the club agrees to release Sowah, it means the club has also agreed and received something that we think we can sell the player.”

“So what we have to do is to just a find a replacement, it’s not as if Sowah will be here forever, definitely there will be a time he has to move on, it could be soon or later, fair enough, but it is up to us to also make sure we get an able replacement.”

“We are open to anything, if a deal comes, why not and both parties agree, he can move on.”

Jonathan Sowah scored 12 goals in 18 matches to help Medeama SC win the 2022-2023 BetPawa Ghana Premier League title under Head Coach Evans Augustine Adotey.
