Ghana’s run at the 60th spot in the FIFA Men’s Football World Rankings has come to an end with the four time African champions slipping to 61st in the rankings.

Per the latest rankings released today, Ghana has slipped a spot in the standings on the back of scoring a 1-0 win over Madagascar and losing 0-1 to Comoros in the opening round of games in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

In the July, September and October release of the rankings, Ghana was ranked 60th but an up and down start to the 2026 World Cup qualifiers has coincided with a drop in Ghana’s standing in the rankings.

Africa’s top ranked nations, Morocco and Senegal, made it into the top 20 ranked nations in the world at 13th and 20th positions respectively.

Ghana missed out on a top 10 spot on the continental rankings with Cote D’Ivoire, Mali and Burkina Faso ranked eighth, ninth and tenth respectively.

Argentina continues to lead the world rankings with France, England, Belgium and Brazil rounding up the top five.
