Veteran football administrator Samuel Oduro-Nyarko has hit back at Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club’s head coach Martin Koopman over the latter’s statement that goal scoring challenges aren’t peculiar to his team.

Oduro-Nyarko said this in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports in the wake of Koopman’s viral statement after seeing his Hearts of Oak side register another goalless draw in the 2023-2024 Betpawa Premier League season. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

Despite securing a 3-1 win over Medeama SC recently, Hearts has largely struggled to score goals with the team registering six goals in nine games.

When quizzed about the reasons behind his team’s inefficiencies in front of goal, Koopman said the issue isn’t a Hearts of Oak problem but a national team problem citing the Black Stars.

Oduro-Nyarko disagreed with Koopman’s stance stating, “He must be truthful enough to say that this problem is peculiar to Hearts of Oak; it is not a national issue.”
