Kumasi Asante Kotoko has missed out on extending its unbeaten run in the 2023-2024 BetPawa Premier League season to five games.
Kotoko lost 1-0 to Nsoatreman in a controversy filled game that had Nsoatreman pick up its fifth win in its debut season competing in Ghana’s top flight.
However, the win was registered in a game not short of controversy as goal scorer Stephen Diyou was apparently in an offside position when he stabbed Manaf Umar’s cross-shot attempt into the net in the 42nd minute.
Henry Ansu was shown a second yellow card by referee Maxwell Hanson seemingly for his vehement protest against the decision to have the goal stand leaving Kotoko with a numerical disadvantage.
The win moves Nsoatreman to the summit of the 18 team league standings with 16 points after picking up five wins, a loss and a draw.
A great goal from Diyou @Nsoatreman_FC 1-0 @AsanteKotoko_SC
