Injured Hearts’ midfielder Salifu Ibrahim expected to be ready for Olympics tie

Salifu Ibrahim

Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder Ibrahim Salifu is expected to be ready to play for the Phobia Club against city rival Accra Great Olympics.

The Ghana Premier League tie between the city rivals is scheduled for Friday, December 22 and the injury report on Salifu isn’t as dire as initially feared when he exited Hearts’ game against Kotoko in the second half.

Ibrahim was stretched off in Hearts 2-3 loss to Kotoko at the Baba Yara Stadium but a medical update from the team puts the former Eleven Wonders Football Club player in line to feature in the game. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

“Salifu Ibrahim will miss today’s training session due to an injury he sustained during our game against Kotoko. He is expected to resume training tomorrow. Wishing you a speedy recovery” a club statement read.

Losing to Kotoko underlined Hearts poor run in a chaotic season with the Rainbow Club registering just a win in its last seven league games.

Hearts of Oak (at the time of writing) ranks ninth in the 18 team league standings while Olympics ranks 12th.
