Nicolas Jackson has escaped any FA punishment following his post-match confrontation with Everton‘s players after Chelsea’s 2-0 defeat at Goodison Park.

Jackson grabbed Everton’s Nathan Patterson around the throat during the bust-up and had to be pulled away from the scene by Mauricio Pochettino and members of Chelsea staff while angrily exchanging words with individuals from Sean Dyche‘s Toffees.

But striker Jackson has avoided any retrospective action as the incident was reviewed by the match officials at the time and no further action was taken.

After the full-time whistle sounded at Goodison Park, Jackson confronted several Everton players, including, Patterson and Amadou Onana, going head-to-head with the former.

It was unclear what caused the altercation and he was quickly ushered from the melee by Pochettino before walking towards the tunnel.

The Senegal international has scored six goals in 15 Premier League appearances this season, but has also been given seven yellow cards and has already been given a one-match suspension for amassing five bookings in Chelsea’s first six Premier league games this season.

In recent weeks, Pochettino has also urged his side to cut out ‘silly’ yellow cards, admitting he has shown his side video replays of some of the fouls they have conceded in training.

Pochettino is understood to be keen on buyng a striker in January if the funds are available, with Ivan Toney and Victor Osimhen – crowned African Footballer of the Year on Monday night – seen as leading options.
